Scan results: valid, caution, failed
The scanner answers in three colors so a brand-new hire can run the door on day one.
The three results
- GREEN · Valid - let them in. First scan of a pass also activates it (starts its clock).
- AMBER · Caution - technically usable but worth a look: e.g. scanned again very soon after entry, or a pass for a different location of your org. The screen says why; use judgment.
- RED · Failed - expired, already fully used, refunded, or fake. The reason is on screen; don't admit on red, and point the member to support if they think it's wrong.
Common edge cases
- Wrong location - a pass bought for your other site scans amber here; your call whether to honor it
- Expired - multi-day passes run consecutively from first activation; the screen shows when it ended
- Already used today - day passes are one admission; re-entry policy is your house rule
