Frequently asked questions

The short answers gym owners actually want. For the long versions, every answer links deeper in the help center.

Getting started

How much does it cost to list my gym on FTNSS?

Nothing. Listing is free, there's no monthly fee, and no lock-in. You keep 100% of the rate you set on every pass - the FTNSS fee is added on top for the member, never taken out of your price.

How long does setup take?

Most gyms go live the same day. Creating the listing takes about 15 minutes with the guided wizard; Stripe verification (for payouts) usually clears within minutes to a day. Your listing needs at least one photo and one pass on sale to publish.

Do I need any special hardware?

No. Any phone, tablet, or laptop camera scans member QR passes. If you want a faster desk, any 2D USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner plugs straight in, and kiosk mode turns a spare tablet into a locked check-in station.

Which countries does FTNSS support?

FTNSS is live in the US and Canada and ready in every country Stripe supports - 40+ countries across Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Americas, each paying out in its local currency. See the Countries page for the full list.

Payments

How do I get paid?

Automatically, via Stripe. Sales settle into your balance and deposit to your bank in your local currency on schedule. A settlement window of about 10 business days covers the member refund window, so refunds never claw back money you've already received.

What fees does FTNSS charge gyms?

None from your side. You set a rate; you receive that rate plus your local tax, in full. The member pays your rate + tax + a small FTNSS fee we add on top - that fee is how FTNSS makes money, and it's never deducted from you.

What is FTNSS Cash and do I still get paid when members use it?

FTNSS Cash is member credit funded by FTNSS (referral rewards and promotions). When a member pays with it, you're owed your full rate + tax exactly as with a card sale. The card portion pays out normally; the Cash-covered portion accrues as a balance FTNSS owes you, tracked in Finance → FTNSS Cash and settled separately.

How do refunds work?

Members can self-refund a pass within 7 days only if it was never scanned. Used passes aren't refundable. Refunds net off a future payout automatically - you never handle the money or the argument.

Who handles sales tax?

Tax is calculated per location at your local rate, charged to the member on top of your price, and paid through to you in full to remit - exactly like a front-desk sale. Your Finance export itemizes it per transaction.

Operations

How do check-ins work?

Members show a QR pass in their app; you scan it with a camera, hardware scanner, or kiosk. The screen answers in color - green in, amber caution with a reason, red no with a reason - and every scan is logged automatically.

What if a member's pass doesn't scan?

Type the short pass code (like 7Q4K-9MHW) into the scanner screen for the same validation, or look the member up by name in Members. Manual overrides are possible and logged, so your records stay honest.

When does a pass start counting down?

At its first scan - not at purchase. A 3-day pass bought Tuesday but first scanned Thursday runs Thursday through Saturday. Members never lose days to early buying.

What happens if someone buys a pass and never shows up?

If they don't refund within the 7-day window, the revenue is yours to keep. Analytics tracks this as breakage so you can see how much of it you earn.

Can I give my staff their own logins?

Yes - and you should. Five roles (owner, manager, instructor, front desk, scan-only) give each person exactly the access their job needs, enforced server-side. Every staff member also gets a personal kiosk PIN for locked check-in stations.

Your gym, your rules

Do I control my prices and hours?

Completely. Every location sets its own passes, prices, hours (including 24H days and holiday exceptions), house rules, and photos. You can change any of it anytime - already-sold passes keep the price the member paid.

Can I take my gym off FTNSS?

Anytime. Unpublish a location and new sales stop instantly - your data stays intact and passes already sold remain valid. Republish whenever you like. There's no contract.

Will FTNSS members crowd out my regular members?

You're in control: your prices set the volume, and most gyms see FTNSS members arrive off-peak (travelers train at odd hours). The usage heatmap shows exactly when they come, so you can price and staff accordingly.

Can I convert FTNSS visitors into my own members?

Yes - encouraged. A traveler who becomes a local regular is your win. Repeat-visitor analytics helps you spot exactly who to have that conversation with.

Reviews & trust

How do reviews work?

Only members whose pass was actually used at your gym can review it, after the pass ends. Your FTNSS score is out of 10, with subscores for equipment, cleanliness, staff, and value. Owners and managers can reply publicly.

What languages do members see my listing in?

30+. You write your listing once and FTNSS translates it - the structured description format keeps translations clean. Travelers find you in their own language.

Is member data safe with my staff?

Access is role-scoped: door staff see pass validity and emergency contacts, not full histories; finances are owner/manager territory. Marketing use of member contact data requires the member's explicit opt-in - it's off by default.

Ready to welcome more members?

Free to list. You keep 100% of the rate you set.
