For busy desks, a dedicated 2D scanner beats a camera: beep, green, next. Any keyboard-wedge scanner that reads QR codes works - no drivers, no pairing ceremony.

Setup

  1. 1Plug in (USB) or pair (Bluetooth) the scanner - it acts as a keyboard.
  2. 2Open Scan a pass; the hardware field is focused and shows Ready.
  3. 3Scan the member's QR - the code types itself and validates instantly.
  • Must be a 2D (QR-capable) scanner - 1D laser scanners can't read QR codes
  • The input re-arms after each scan automatically, so back-to-back members just keep scanning
  • Camera and hardware scanning work side by side - use whichever is closest
