Kiosk mode: a locked check-in station
Kiosk mode turns any device into a dedicated check-in station: locked to scanning, bound to one location, and switchable between staff by PIN.
Setting up a kiosk
- 1An owner or manager opens Kiosk mode on the device and authorizes it - this binds the device to the location.
- 2The device locks to the scan screen; the rest of the app is inaccessible.
- 3Staff switch in with their personal kiosk PIN, so every scan is attributed to a person.
Good to know: Every staff member has a kiosk PIN - including email-login staff. Managers can reveal or reset a PIN from the Staff screen; reveals are audited.
Why PINs beat shared logins
Shared passwords end up on sticky notes and outlive departures. PINs are personal, instantly resettable, and keep your check-in history attributable - you always know who let whom in.
