Pricing strategies that work for drop-in gyms

You don't need dynamic-pricing wizardry. You need a fair day rate, a sensible ladder above it, and the analytics to notice when the market disagrees.

Four rules of thumb

  • Anchor on the day pass - it's the search travelers make ("gym day pass <your city>"), so keep it at a fair walk-in rate.
  • Ladder durations so longer = better value per day, but never cheap enough to cannibalize memberships.
  • Watch conversion and utilization in Analytics - lots of views but few sales usually means the day rate is off.
  • Change one thing at a time and give it two weeks before judging.
